Ola Started e-rickshaw Bookings on its Platform, Partner with Freecharge

Transportation app Ola today launched e-rickshaw category on its platform that will enable the users to book rides on the electric vehicle in Delhi-NCR region. "A total of 5,100 Ola e-rickshaws will be launched in partnership with Bhartiya Micro Credit (BMC) at the event and will be deployed across Delhi, Gurgaon, Noida, Faridabad and Ghaziabad. This will be further scaled up in the coming months to more small towns and Tier III cities," Ola Chief Operating Officer Pranay Jivrajka told reporters here. The company will charge a 10 per cent commission from the rickshaw pedallers. It will, however, not charge any convenience fee from users as is the case with auto-rickshaws. BigBasket Raises $150 Million in Funding Led By Abraaj Group

Grocery delivery service BigBasket has raised $150 million in fresh funding in a round led by UAE's Abraaj Group as the company looks to expand its services into smaller cities, the investor said. Existing investors Bessemer Venture Partners and Helion Advisors along with International Finance Corp and Sands Capital participated in the round, Abraaj said in a statement. NEW DELHI: Gurgaon-based Baxi will roll out a new feature to help users book rides on the app without using Internet. The bike-taxi hailing app, which offers services in Gurgaon and Faridabad, will make the feature available to its 30,000 users from next week. "All customers that have an Android smartphone without a data connection can now use the new Baxi app. Customers can also use the app even when their Internet connection isn't working," Baxi co-founder and CTO Manu Rana told said. This feature will help the company reach out to a larger number of customers as they will not have to rely on or spend money on data packs.
