After Inspiring An Industry Of Hyperloop Startups, Elon Musk Is Set To Build His Own

Elon Musk is now set to make his own Hyperloop after being an inspiration for startups, as per the latest report by Bloomberg.  The Tesla and SpaceX CEO is said to be planning to build the Hyperloop portion of his planned underground tunnel-based Hyperloop network himself, rather than relying on outside partners who are already developing commercial Hyperloop technology. He briefed his research conducted with his team at Space Exploration Technologies Corp that demonstrated the system's viability and offered it as a gift to the startup ecosystem. Government Launches AGRI-UDAAN Programme To Boost Agriculture Startups

ICAR-NAARM Technology Business Incubator (TBI), a-IDEA and Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad’s (IIM-A) incubator Center for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) announces AGRI-UDAAN, a programme to promote innovations and entrepreneurship in agriculture and help them connect potential investors. “The idea is to attract the youth from rural India and elsewhere, and train them so they can add value to the farmers’ produce,” said Narendra Singh Rathore, deputy director general of agricultural education at ICAR. Under this programme the startups will undergo a 6-months training period after which they will be connected to the potential investors. “Our goal is to begin a start-up revolution in agriculture which so far has been limited to the services sector,” he added. ...

Nexus Venture Partners, an early investor in Snapdeal, has come out in support of the e- commerce firm’s decision to pursue “Snapdeal 2.0” instead of accepting rival Flipkart’s $900-950 million acquisition offer. Nexus Venture Partners is the second investor to come out in support of Snapdeal’s decision, after Kenneth Glass (an early investor in Snapdeal). BookMyShow Acquires Video-On-Demand Platform Nfusion

Online entertainment ticketing company BookMyShow on Tuesday said it has acquired video-on- demand platform Nfusion for an undisclosed amount, a move that will help the Mumbai-based firm enhance its audio streaming offerings. Without disclosing the financial details of the transaction, BookMyShow said it acquired Nfusion in an all-cash deal. “We are excited to foray into audio entertainment through our offering ‘Jukebox’ (its online audio entertainment offering), which uses Nfusion’s technology,” BookMyShow director Parikshit Dar told PTI. Kunal Bahl comments on the sale of Freecharge to Axis Bank, says it will provide Snapdeal the "necessary boost in resources" to continue its e-commerce journey. Just hours after the deal was announced, Bahl wrote to employees seeking to assuage concerns saying Axis Bank intends to not just retain all Freecharge employees but also "invest significantly" in the team and brand.
